Iberostar. Any of them. varadero is one of those places where most people hardly venture from their hotel to eat or drink.
Outside, the food is pretty uninspiring.similarly priced to UK.
I found everytbing artificially priced quite high for Tourist Peso.

Walking around, looking at prices in shops, it felt a bit like "The Truman Show" ie everything priced just for us. The locals would pay a completely different amount(fraction) in the Local Peso.

if you haven't done so yet, have a look at sol palmeras in varadero. myself and my husband have stayed here twice. if you can; try and stay in a bungalow absolutely brilliant. the hotel is fab, the staff are fab and it on one of the best parts of the beach.
