Part-time Student Finance (pre 2012) Help

I will try and keep this as brief as possible:
I am currently a part-time student in England and my course started prior to September 2012, therefore I am on the old finance system, whereby I am eligible for a course and fee grant.
The part of the funding I am struggling to understand is the fee grant which is determined based on the intensity of my part-time course using the following calculations:
Part time units / Full-time units x 100
I am due to complete 2 units this coming academic year (13/14) totalling 40 credits, which is a lot less than previous years and I will be completing this in half an academic year i.e. I should have completed the course in January 2014.
However the above calculations don't appear to take into consideration the pro-rota aspect of my studies this year. My uni states that a full-time student would complete 120 credits in a FULL academic year and this is what they will use in the calculations, is this correct? I suggested that maybe it should be calculated in line with the duration of my final studies i.e. half a year.
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

I'm also a part-time pre 2012 student. I'm not sure to be honest whether that is right or not. It does sound to me like they should bare in mind it's not being based on a full year if you are due to finish before that so worth double checking with your uni.
I have to say that it's a struggle not having much support being part time. I'm due to commence a 7 week teaching placement in October and am struggling to find any financial help. This grant we can get doesn't normally get paid until December and I need it before then really. I've not been able to secure a Teaching Assistant job for September because of placement so am stuck hoping I can get some casual work. It's already stressing me out.Saved: £1566.53/ £20000 -

im taking 2 modules which is 60 credits each year, don't know if that helps?
