Scraped my (old) car - cheap & cheerful repair options?

Options
Just caught the bottom of my car on a kerb as a result of cutting a corner (because someone turned into the car park just as I was turning out). There's quite a deep scrape on the underside of the bodywork, below the passenger door. The car is fairly old and already somewhat disfigured as a result of some thoughtful soul keying it in a car park several years ago, and I'll probably keep it until it's beyond economical repair, so I'm not too bothered about restoring it to immaculate condition; however, I do need to know what I should do to just tidy it up a bit and prevent rust from setting in.

(I've tried to treat the key scratches with one of those pens that's supposed to camouflage scratches, but if anything it just made them more obvious, and it also made the paintwork look streaky and attract dust.)

The car is silver, in case that makes any difference.

Any advice?

You can buy a spraycan can of stonechip paint in grey or black, and a roll of masking tape, then mask off the doors and spray the sill.
or you could daub it with silver hammerite, or spray it satin black...

No need to do the other side, you can't see both at once!

Use some masking tape to provide a line along the top of the sill panel.

Do it so its just under the door onto the flat bit behind the door on the sill and underseal the whole of the panel black.

Hammerite undercoat, Silver spray can over the top. Just mask it off to prevent overspray.
