I can't really think of a way of asking this, and I don't think it's possible but is there a way of checking against google what keywords rank high for certain websites?

This is something I used quite a while ago, it is free but don't ask me how to use it lol
There is no save function on the free version I do not think, but it should be good for a look

They have other tools knockng around as well, but you will have to download them and try to figure them out"Don't blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast. Faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink. Good Luck" - The Doctor.0 -
Thanks, I had a think about it and probably won't find a direct link as essentially you can beat competitors with your keywords and SEO. I did find a similar site which was useful however so can use this. I'll check out that program to help develop keywordsOwner of andrewhope.co.uk, hate cars and love them

I'm not sure how helpful this would be, but Google Trends shows you how often a particular search term has been used worldwide or by nation. It also shows a list of related searches, which might be interesting.
So, for example, if you were interested in the BBC website, you could do a search for "bbc", and will see that people often also used the terms "news", "weather" or "sport", etc.
