Recommend me a 0% BT card

currently have the following cards:

Barclaycard Platinum: £3,900 owed (0% offer ends Mar '14)
Nationwide: £3,000 owed (0% offer ends Sept '13)
Creation Flybe: £1,600 owed (0% offer ends Sept '13)

I'm after a 0% BT card to (hopefully) transfer the balance from both Nationwide and Creation onto, to give me 12 months, or more, to pay them off. Any recommendations?

Thank you in advance

Sort by the fee column, produce a shortlist, and discount any that are from the same stable as your current cards.

There seem to be 5 or 6 cards all offering 12 months or more 0% for fees of around 1% or less.

How high are the balances in relation to your limits? If you owe a large proportion of your available credit you will find it hard to get a balance transfer card elsehwere.

And yes, the Halifax All In One card and Lloyds TSB card mentioned in YorkshireBoy's link will do you 15 months 0% with a mere 1% fee :o

    Hi
    Barclaycard limit £5k, I owe £3.9k
    Nationwide limit £5.4k, I owe £3k
    Creation limit £4.2k, I owe £1.6k

I banks with Lloyds and have for 20 years and had a platinum card of theirs previously, and closed it fully 2 years ago when I cleared it off, should I try them first? Is there a chance Im more likely to be accepted by them?

    Thanks again
  • Hey,

I've also got a Barclaycard Platinum but got it with the intention of transferring my Amex balance, in addition to some Capital One debt, but since found out that I can't!

Anyway, I've just been accepted for a Lloyds TSB Platinum BT Card and they've let me transfer the lot onto that. However the 0% period is only 15 months so somewhat shorter than some of the other deals out there.

My credit score isn't bad but nor is it fantastic. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I was wondering if I benefited much. I also tried the balance transfer calculator and I was only one month quicker to pay the balance off. I might as well carry on as I am until my balance outstanding is much lower. Then switch to a rewards card.
It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.

    Hi all

Applied online last night for a Lloyds Platinum card, got an error message saying I already have a Lloyds Platinum card with them (I did have 2 years ago but closed it down fully, knowing i may well need it again). Phoned them and theyve now removed it from the system (apparently) and I been told wait 7 days before reapplying
