New address and no accounts

Hi

I am going to apply for a mortgage very soon and wanted to check my credit score. The Equifax free trial provided me with a credit report and credit score, which shows up two major weaknesses:

Electoral roll - I have applied to be added to the electoral roll but it has not yet been processed.

Current address - I am currently living with my brother having left a rental property in June. The credit score page shows that I have no registered credit accounts at this address (although I have changed my current and credit accounts and mobile phone contract to my brothers address). Is there something I can do to improve this? The only way I can see around this is if I apply for a new credit card asap with my current address, but I'm not sure what impact the extra credit card and the credit search it will require will have on my overall score.

Can anybody offer some advice?

Thanks

EDIT - I have just realised that I posted this in the wrong forum. I have added a post to one of the existing threads in the credit file forum. Please ignore - Sorry!

Banks etc report the credit reference agencies once a month but the extract process can take a month in itself (not naming and shaming Barclays).

If you only moved at some time in June then it may not be until the August update that the new details get sent to them with most banks appearing to send around the middle of the month (from my experience)
