Car stereo help
Options
When I bought my car it came with a non factory fitted stereo, a Pioneer DEH-1300MP, it has a removable front plate.
It worked great for a while, mainly using the radio or a cable in on AUX mode.
Now this next bit is prob totally coincidence, but I tried to play a cd which is marked on the case as digitally enhanced. It would not play at all.
I ejected it and now nothing works at all.
It is just repeatedly turning on and off, e g it keeps flashing on saying either AUX, DC or radio, then turning off, then turning on again, then off again, then on again......
I can change the output from AUX to CD if I'm quick in one of the brief periods when it's on, but no sound.
I have cleaned the contacts on the stereo itself and the front plate in case there was dirt preventing a connection and no change.
This morning I pulled the stero right out and checked none of the wires were loose, but they were all secure.
I've also found the manual on line, but there was no mention of this happening.
Soooo, after all this waffle, my question for any car stereo experts is; Is this likely to be a problem with the actual unit, or the power supply to it?
Any suggestions as to how I can sort it myself?
Thank you.

How are they connected?
If it's the classic uncle Fred "twist the wires together and wrap in electrical tape" special, then you need to strip the wire back beyond the sticky tape residue and get some connector blocks (about 50p in Wilkinsons).“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
