Savings & Standing Order

If one wanted to put, say £7,000 into a savings account and then set up a monthly standing order from said account, emptying it at the pace of £60 / Month for 17 months and then withdraw the remaining £5980 and close the account in the 18th month, what would be the best account to have?

Savings accounts don't normally offer SOs.
But you could achieve what you want to do with one or more interest-paying current accounts. They pay more interest so are a better choice anyway.0 -
And TBH I've just had another look at rates; didn't think it was possible but they're even worse than the last time I checked.
