Civil Enforcement Parking Charge Help!??

Options
Hey, I received a letter from this private car parking company on thursday stating that i had entered their car park at whitby - coop seven minutes earlier (11:53am) than i purchased my ticket (12:00noon) and then left seven minutes after (2:07pm)i was due to leave even though I left ten minutes (1:50pm) earlier than I was due to. I have spoken to the police about it and showed them the letter and the actual parking ticket I paid for, they said they have no legal right to demand money off me. I am only 20 years old and don't know what to do about the matter, I mam says to pay and and it's forgotten about but I don't want to pay someones wages just for me apparently being in the car park at the wrong times.

Someone help!!! :(

You need to appeal to the parking company, they will refuse your appeal, and give you a code that will allow you to make a formal appeal to POPLA. Go to the POPLA decisions thread at the top of this thread and read some recent appeals/decisions to see what is involved.

First though you need to appeal to the parking company. There are lots of threads on here, you need to do some research and prepare a first draft 'soft' appeal.

Also do a search for 'grace period' and have a look at the BPA code of practice here for the part about grace periods

Post your first draft of your appeal to the PPC and someone will come and check it over for you.

I would point out to the PPC that it's ANPR system appears to be defective as you left the parking lot earlier than the camera reported. Possibly cameras out of sync.

Probably will be rejected so expect that and get prepared for POPLA.

Every thread on the entire forum is the same and tells you what to do, read a few from page one, it's easy. Instead of speaking the Police like it's a criminal matter (LOL!) complain to the Co-Op (Store Manager ONLY, in person, not the random part-time jobsworth on the cigarette kiosk!) immediately as a first action this week, NOW. KICK OFF politely about the stupid fake PCN and get it cancelled in the store on the spot (the Store Manager can do that). :)

YOUR MAM IS MISTAKEN! I AM A MUM TOO AND HAVE A 20 YEAR OLD SON, HE KNOWS THESE FAKE PCNS ARE SCAMS AND TELLS ALL HIS FRIENDS.

If the Co-Op Store Manager is useless, you only have to do a simple challenge NOT saying who was driving:

Come back if the PPC reject your challenge and if/when they give you a POPLA Code.

Or post about your success when you complain to the Co-op Store Manager himself/herself about this utter con against customers.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
