  • I used Asda self-scan earlier on and all my coupons went through okay despite not buying the products. It must be something that some stores have done - probably bacause of people using out of date and other stores coupons on self-scan.

same problem for me too .... used to always use coupons on the self scan till without buying the product, sometimes would only pay £1 for a £10 shop but alas those days seem to have gone . . . .. booooo! boooooo!!

only joy is that the checkout staff will accept upto 30% of total bill in coupons so thankfully all is not lost ......

good job really as a few weeks ago spent over £40 on ebay to get £200 worth of coupons!!!!!!!  :j

Please dont anyone jump on me, but it is this practice that is making stores cut back on coupons.
is it worth risking them stopping accepting them for £1.50?

My tesco have stopped taking them because people were giving asda ones in, and Asda will do the same.

Surely coupon usage is a great thing, and it is a privelige. A privelige that will be withdrawn if people continue to abuse it by giving in coupons that the store cannot redeem.

say what you like - I only used the 10% limit and they were the only ones I had with me at the time.

seemed like the ASDA tills I used were fine with any coupon was the point I was making.

I learnt a long long time ago not to use my own back yard as a toilet so as a rule I don`t use ood vouchers but as the high and mighty brigade have spoken I`ll keep any further comments to myself.

i have just been to my local asda (carlisle) and went to put coupon in self scan,i hadnt bought the items but usually they accept 10% off shopping, the self scanner said coupon does not match products, has anyone else tried lately i didnt get any accepted tuesday either but that was new staff,i know we dont have a right to this but it has always been the policy to take 10% at managers discretion

This happened to me last week, so I tried again with a MOC for something I did purchase. I was surprised when this too was rejected with the message that the coupon did not match a product.

A helpful young SA came over and told me that the self scan tills had been altered so that they did not accept coupons anymore as people had been using ood and other stores vouchers :( She said that she could put it through at her till, which she did.
