asda coupon policy again!

Options
i have just been to my local asda (carlisle) and went to put coupon in self scan,i hadnt bought the items but usually they accept 10% off shopping, the self scanner said coupon does not match products, has anyone else tried lately i didnt get any accepted tuesday either but that was new staff,i know we dont have a right to this but it has always been the policy to take 10% at managers discretion

Same story here, I cant for the life of me remember if the 99 barcodes still work though. I think the checkouts still take them, in fact I know they do.

I think they have been reprogrammed to be honest.

I went last week and had the same message while trying to use a coupon.

Went yesterday and it is still the same.

Well I used 3 x ood (get active) 50p tesco ski yogurt vouchers at an Asda self scan on Saturday and they went through fine.
  • i had the same experience at the asdas where my son works in Bury i was happily scanning my coupons when the sa jumped on me like i was stealing the till, she opened up the bit where id put my coupons and checked each coupon then said it was ok but i was not to put any more through she said there had been out of date coupons going through and ones specifically for other stores, i said ok no probs then swiped my discount card which she had to authorise, she wasnt too impressed. Tesco self scan wasnt a prob though!!

Please dont anyone jump on me, but it is this practice that is making stores cut back on coupons.
is it worth risking them stopping accepting them for £1.50?

My tesco have stopped taking them because people were giving asda ones in, and Asda will do the same.

Surely coupon usage is a great thing, and it is a privelige. A privelige that will be withdrawn if people continue to abuse it by giving in coupons that the store cannot redeem.
