Cars which stay unsold for months

I have been scouring the net for cars for a few months now. There are certain cars that seem to never sell. The price of the cars doesn't seem that bad compared to others. Of course I have not inspected them myself, but do you think buyers are put off due to underlying problems.
Would it be best to avoid cars that struggle to sell after months of exposure?

Private or Dealers?
Wrong car, Wrong spec, Wrong colour, Has a fault thats costly to fix or due a wallet busting service anytime soon?
Dealers usually swap and change cars that dont sell quickly. Its not good having the same car on a forecourt for a long time.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

What underlying problems are you talking about?
If you are looking at dealer cars, and comparing prices to other dealers, they will be the sameish.
Then the dealer is not overly fussed if the car sits around, as he will have a 2k plus mark up on the car (depending on the car).
People don't tend to spend months looking for a car, so would never no how long its been for sale.0 -
I lot of main dealers tend to send cars to the auctions if they don't sell within a couple of months.0

Annoyingly I went to look at an unsold car at a dealer in auto trader.
I wasn't far from them. I know I should have phones but
A I didn't know I was going.
B didn't want hassle.
Turned out it was sold ages ago and that ad had sold them 7 other cars!
Maybe cheaper to renew the ad for advertising.0 -
There's an ever growing number of dealers who steal photographs from other ads, use them to draw in customers to their lot and when the customer has travelled 80 miles to get there (hungry, tired and just want to get a car) they say "oh sorry mate it's been sold, but we've got this car over here" and then point to the shed of a car in the corner.
Customer buys shed, travels 80 miles home, find it's got a blown head gasket and can't take it 80 miles back to be repaired.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
