Mum is picking up her new car this week and I know one of the many things that they will try and sell her is GAP insurance.
Now I've heard of too many people writing off their nice new car but I know that the cost of GAP from the garage is not cheap.
Is there an company that MSErs would recommend?

Look at Which? or Defaqto for recommended providers either from a service or coverage perspective.0

Evan Halshaw's is £399 but i think it depends on the value of the car.0

you're absolutely right, after seeing your post i dont one quick search and came up with http://www.directgap.co.uk/Quote.aspx?vc=7500&cl=7500&trm=4
which is £110 but now looking at this site it looks like there is is more options.
If i choice the petrol car i will definately be querying this.

Your insurer will cover you for the first 12 months.0

Also check even if the insurer says they will replace the vehicle what would happen if a replacement is not available. If they say they will only pay market value at that point you have to decide how likely it is that you will be able to find a direct replacement. A bog standard Focus may be fine, but a fully loaded BMW may be a different matter.0
