How much are a 'Home Buyers' report?

Options
On properties £160k?

  • I don't know if it's done by price of property or size of property.

I recently had a home buyers survey and valuation done on a 4 bed house which (including VAT) was £380. This was in the north east, and depending on where you live it may cost you more. I currently live in the South East and I know someone who recently paid almost £2k for a building survey on a 5 bed house.

Thanks, I was not sure if price was standard or by area? We are looking at 3 bed and estimated £500...

Surely if you're prepared to spend £500 you'd be better off with paying a bit more for a full structural survey- get prices on that. I am no fan of homebuyers reports as they seem so superficial as to be unhelpful- at least ask to see a sample or template to clarify exactly what it will cover.
