Fuse or all 3 bulbs blown together?

I have a standard lamp which has 3 halogen gu10 bulbs at different heights. It is 7-8 years old.

Just now I heard them blew out. The light shades are too hot to touch at the moment.

I think all three bulbs blowing out at the same time is more fault with lamp or fuse than a freak.

The lamp is plugged in the same double socket as my iPod speaker dock and that works fine.

Are they fuses or trip switches? Common issue for sensitive trip switches to pop when a bulb blows.

If you heard them go then they have probably gone.

Tripped switches should have killed all the mains, including the iPod which is OK.

    Consider replacing with LEDs.
