Tax Credits - dealine?

I know child tax credit forms have to be in by 31st July but my friend (who has no children) has just turned 25 last week and will be completing the forms to make a claim for working tax credits.
Does anyone know if there is a deadline for WTC like there is for CTC?

    new claims can be made anytime

    The 31st July is for renewing (technically finalising the year just ended and acting as a claim for the new year) claims. It is 31st July for WTC and CTC.

    There is no deadline for CTC and WTC brand new claims - except that you only get 1 month backdating so they need to make the claim asap so they get it backdated to their 25th birthday.
