Drive gravel grid mesh stabilisers plastic things.

Does anyone have any experience with them plastic grid things you can use to on your drive to stop gravel/pebbles moving about too much or on grass to provide grip for car tyres?
My front driveway has slabs with flowerbeds either side (~1m wide). We recently got some motorbikes and like to ride down the side of the drive to park them behind the car where I've located a security ground anchor in concrete. To achieve this, I ditched one flower bed and replaced it with black anti-weed sheeting and pebbles. However the pebbles are a bit loose and I'm afraid of loosing grip and sliding over on the bike.
Rather than just concrete the lot, I was thinking about using some plastic grid/mesh things, putting the pebbles in them and hopefully making things more stable to ride over.
Reckon they'll work? Any tips on which brands are best? What depth meshes, will 30mm do, is there much to gain with deeper 40-50mm meshes? Seen a few reasonable priced ones from some ebay shop, are better/cheaper ones else where?

To be honest motorbikes and pebbles do not play together well, concrete or some other solid base is always going to be better.
Lots of good advice here http://www.therevcounter.co.uk/forum/ but be warned, parts of it can be more 'robust' than what you are used to on here.
(Oh and beware of the offers of cheese and pineapple hedgehogs ;-) )0
