Perhaps look at your own current overall exposure to EMs, and also to large caps. Then decide whether you are content to see an increase in both of these areas.

Thanks again AW and also to bowlhead99 for both your excellent replies. I should have probably said "I'm light on EM large cap and of a mind to buy" and then asked for views on TEM and purchasing now.

Your responses make a lot of sense though - especially re risk of slowdown in China, unwinding of QE and the fact that an actively managed closed-end vehicle is perhaps better given the imperfect market and fund liquidity issues.

    Lots to digest. Cheers.

It can sometimes take me a while to get through my reading material, which is why one of the following from the FT is from June. But they are pertinent.

    Decoupling for real
    Another little China growl

The FT's blogs are free and just need a registration set up to be able to access them. I don't think that there is a restriction to the number that can be read, unlike with their main articles. Worth it, I think, just to be able to read quality opinion without there being a particular axe to grind.

I hold Jpmorgan India IT and that is emerging, Im not sure if TEM is positive on India. I believe mobius is but due to their government nationalism it may take a fair bit of skill.

In years past I held a BSE tracker but now just the managed fund which is not doing well.

The BRIC will only do well when they start trading with each other more but China and India are potential adversaries, not sure trade is growing more likely they have a lockjaw grip on the west
