Renting In North London - Letting Agent recommendation, advice and safety

Hello All!

I am looking for a minimum of a two bedroom property to live somewhere around the Kentish Town, Gospel Oak, Belsize Park, Hampstead Heath, Finchley Road and Frognal and West Hampstead areas (basically on that section of the Overground/orange line)

My girlfriend will be there half the time by herself and has concerns about walking from the tube stop alone. Has anyone got any comments on the safety of these areas are some better/worse than others? Also which are the areas that you will get more for what you pay for?

Can anyone recommend any estate agents to use or not to use or advice in general for renting to help us make sure that we aren't ripped off? I am using Zoopla and Rightmove at the moment but the results from these services seem a bit hit and miss.

Thanks very much for your time!:)

Everywhere in London is safe. I can't think of a single area that's a "no-go" after dark, and if there are any it won't be in the ones you have mentioned!

Unless you are both eccentric millionaires you are most likely to beggar yourselves renting somewhere in Hampstead & Belsize Park. These days, even tatty old Chalk Farm, Camden Town, Kentish Town and Tufnell Park are unaffordable to mere mortals.

Hehe, I live in Tottenham and have done so for thirty years and have never felt the need for body-armour or anything like it. Caveat: I don't live on Broadwater Farm.
