Boiled Mint Leaves

I have a ridiculously sensitive tummy and I certainly find that mint tea (technically mint infusion) helps to calm and settle mine. I usually get Twinings but have previously had Asda's own brand and it works equally well.
If you do decide to get a mint plant I strongly advise you keep it in the pot, don't plant it out unless you plant the pot as well. If you let the roots do their own thing it will take over your herb garden in no time, as 1940sGal has found.
I really enjoy mint tea, its very refreshing and I often have it even when my tummy is fine. It makes a nice change from a regular cuppa when the weather is hot too. I don't find it needs sweetening.0 -
Mint tea sound so much more appetising than boiled mint leaves.
What was that about it's all in the name?
How much mint do you use?All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Camomile tea is also good, if you don't like the flavour of mint.0

I use mint from the garden (a stalk with 4-8 leaves) or found the Tetley's bags were mintier than many. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

:rotfl: This is where Mum and me differ. I like that it's gone wild, I'm all for letting nature take over. And she keeps looking at it and tutting while adding 'I told you you shouldn't have planted it out!'

There are certainly worse things to have going mad in your garden, as I discovered when I moved to this place and found Russian Vine in the back garden  At least mint smells amazing and keeps you in mint tea for years to come :money:0 -
ooooooooooo lovely just bung a few leaves in a cup add hot water and leave for a minute (fish out the leaves) and sip hot or leave to cool.
very nice.

Smells gorgeous in an evening when we water the garden
That Russian Vine is awful, our neighbours' got it at the side of their house and its forever coming under the fence. She doesn't care though

Patisserie Valerie have a really good range of loose mint teas (pour water over, brew and strain loose tea away), I've bought apple loves mint (has cubes of dried apple and petals, looks a bit like potpourri!) and mint. They are not cheap @£6 a pop but the quantity you get in each pack is v.good (last 5 months atleast). Failing that, Twinnings is fine, u can brew and chill mint tea for this whether too. and for the love of your own dignity do not add milk!!
known 1 person who made that mistake.
Mint grows like weeds- so just take a cutting and before you know it you'll have a big old mint 'shrub' you can pick and make your own.0
