Boiled Mint Leaves

Hi All,

I was advised to take some boiled mint leaves with hot water for an upset stomach - where can such leaves be purchased? I've never heard of them before.

Thanks in advance.

Most supermarkets sell herb plants - have look for mint among them.

    Even better, buy a plant.

Pick them off of a mint plant if you know anyone that has one, if not Sainsburys, Asda and Tesco sell fresh mint.

You could buy a pack of peppermint tea bags instead, Aldi sell some nice ones for a cheap price. I find this helps with digestion problems. It is a bit of an acquired taste though...

Why? Mint is a very popular flavouring used in the best coolery.
The only thing that is constant is change.

Why? People have been drinking mint tea for generations.

Unless you buy really good quality teabags, you won't get the same benefits as you will from fresh mint.

Ginger is also supposed to be good, I always carry a packet of ginger nut biscuits if I'm going on a boat trip.;)

Mint tea's really nice. Add a dash of honey if you need it sweetening. I planted some in the garden and it's gone crazy so now I have loads. It's gorgeous, I'll just munch on the odd leaf when I'm pottering about out there.

I can only say what I've found, which is that the peppermint tea bags are a real help in relieving IBS. The Aldi ones also beat much more expensive ones in a poll last year, although this was for their summer berry ones.

the aldi peppermint ones are very good.

I discovered that you don't need boiling water to make a good peppermint drink, just dunk the teabag in cold water and leave for 5 mins. makes a lovely refreshing drink. also works with lemon and ginger tea bags.

first time was an accident when I absent mindfully dropped the bag into a cup of cold water , then I discovered how good it tasted.:D
