Cleaning a rented house that was all spanking new when we moved in

Hi
I am moving out of a property that I have been renting for 8 months. (buying a place) I had not rented before this.
The LL has been superb with any issues that have arisen. In fact when we moved in the whole place had new carpets throughout; living room, beds, hallway and dining room. All pale beige!
At first I thought great but I soon realised that it is impossible to keep a brand new carpet of this colour in new condition. Once you start using it for everyday wear it cannot be ' brand new' any more.
The main entrance inside the front door proved a bit of a nightmare so we put carpet squares and a rug down there since about week 2 just to keep it from getting dirty (we live in a rural area)
Every tiny bit of dirt or drop of a crumb showed up on the carpet. I have had to keep a bottle of carpet cleaner to hand!
We have been very careful and I'd say it looks very very clean. You would have to get on your hands and knees to find a stain and then probably wouldn't find one.
However, it is not 'new' condition as stated on the moving in inventory. How will this affect the deposit when we come to move out?
Thanks

You leave the place in the same condition save wear and tear. If the carpet is as you describe then the LL/LA cannot deduct anything from your deposit as this would be classed as betterment.
I am presuming there was an inventory done which specified the state of the carpet and which you signed?
Am also presuming that your deposit is protected?
To protect yourself, attend the check out and take dated photographs showing the condition of the whole house.0 -
LL can't charge for your any reasonable wear and tear from daily living. As long as you are leaving property in reasonably clean condition, you should get your deposit back in full.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0

A LL will exopect some level of wear & tear. If the carpet is in a condition of a normal usage, i.e. you haven't dropped brown hair dye all over a section, then they shouldn't expect it to be in "new" condition.
I would however recommend either investing in or hiring someone who has a professional carpet cleaner. We moved out of a place after 2 years (and living there with a toddler) & after a proper clean it really did look like if not new then at least barely used.I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

If it was brand spanking new at the start, youshould ensure it is brand spanking clean at the end.
The difference is it is now NOT new and so itis tobe expectedtohave suffered 'fair wear and tear'.
But a carpet shampoo is a good idea.0
