I have a TRV leaking at the spindle, will I have to replace the TRV or can I remove the spindle and repair it with an O ring?

Most are o ring sealed rather than packed these days but not all are serviceable. You will need to remove the head assembly to find out if yours is. Assuming yours is serviceable and the spindle isnt worn it should just be a matter of replacing the o ring0

Good evening: TRV= thermostatic radiator valve
To the OP...my OH has taken a Drayton TRV apart a long time ago and seems to remember not being able to get it back together again...very strong spring! Company policy is now one of replacement not repairWhich ever way you go the system will need draining.

I decided to just replace the TRV, used bungs on the header tank so I didnt have to drain the system. I took off the old TRV from the pipework, but where it connects to the rad its round and I cant get it to undo does anyone know of a speacial tool to tackle this?0
