Halifax "Standard Mastercard" ok for Spain (Ibiza)

Hi all,
I still have in my drawer a Halifax 'Standard Mastercard' (that's what is says when I log into internet banking) which I used for spending in the USA last year. I was now thinking of using it in Ibiza in a few weeks time (I know last minute
)
In the best holiday card article the Halifax Clarity card comes out top. I was wondering if there is a difference?

A big difference. Their "standard" Mastercard charges about 3% on overseas transactions.
You should be able to apply for a Clarity card online.0 -
Check with Halifax what your card is.
My Halifax Clarity is labelled as 'Standard Mastercard' in online banking. When I queried it I was told that they are all described this way online, but it definitely IS a Clarity card, (it doesn't actually say Clarity either on the card or the statement either.)
But I've regularly used it for purchases and cash withdrawals in the USA and never been charged fees.
Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -
Thanks both, I just re-read my statement and in the small print it says it's a clarity card

We have used the Clarity card in France, Italy Spain and Cyprus, no charges! Great.
If you ring your bank before you go you can arrange a payment to the card to arrive a few days after the start of your holiday, then make cash withdrawals on the first couple of days to avoid the interest charges.
We do it regularly and never had any problems.0
