Delivered but buyer claiming it hasn't.

Sold something on Ebay. Went for a lot more than I expected so paid for the extra for recorded mail. Sent last week and today buyer claims it hasn't arrived. Went on Royal Mail tracking expecting to find it still in the system but actually it was delivered Friday! Told buyer this and sent a picture of signature. It doesn't look like the buyers name for the signature.

So what happens now? She says its not arrived but I have "proof" it did?

Firstly confirm you are all dealing with the same address.

Tell the buyer you will lodge a complaint with Royal Mail. Then ring them and make a complaint that the item was not delivered to the address. Business accounts are given a reference number at this stage, so you may / may not get one. If you do, pass it onto the buyer for their info and so they can see you are trying to locate the parcel.

In the meantime get the buyer to check with neighbours etc.

Ultimately you will be protected for Ebay/Paypal disputes as all you have to do is show the item as 'delivered' (assuming it is under £150).

It does happen that parcels are misdelivered or left elsewhere so try and help your buyer as much as you can.

If the buyer raises a "not recieved" claim, you have proof of delivery so that shouldn't be an issue.

Suggest to them that they check both with neighbours and with their delivery office as it may be being held.

The buyer may be telling the truth - my postman has taken to signing for letters himself then leaving them in an unsecure area. Another vote for taking it up with royal mail as a starting point.
