i am posting this because i think some people may not know about this. if you or someone you know has epilepsy then they can get a disabled bus pass form the local council. i have had epilepsy for a year and only found out about this a few months ago thanks to someone i chatted with on the bus on my way home from a hospital appointment. the strict rule is that it has to be uncontrolled epilepsy but that rule isnt strictly followed because mine is controlled and i still got a pass.
all you do is go to the place in your area that deals with applications and fill out the form. they will then contact your gp to confirm you have epilepsy and then write to you to tell you whether you have been successful. you then take in a passport photo and they make up the bus pass for you. in my area i now get free bus travel at any time of day and any day of the week. outside of your area bus companies may give concessions on day tickets. for example i got a ticket that is normally £9 for £5.75 recently on a bus outside my area because i have a bus pass.
