Easyjet and passport validity

Hi, I am travelling to Tenerife in August and have just realised my passport expires in Jan 2014, so when i travel i will have 5 months left on it.

Have just called the spanish embassy who has said it is valid until the last day, but i dont know about easyjet

I have called them and they said it should be ok but does anyone know for definate

    You were probably told that by a travel agent at some point, they tend to band round this 6 month fallacy because they can't be @rsed to check individual destinations and some even go so far at to enforce it on their own charter flights.

    Not sure how many countries do have the 6 month rule (or something similar), but it doesn't apply to most mainstream destinations.

    Some airlines have 6 months in their T & Cs regardless of destination, I don't know what their reasoning is, as there is no such restriction for Europe.
    I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world
