Quinny Pushchair Fault

Hi All
I bought a Quinny pushchair brand new in 2010. I used it for my first little boy and am now using it for my 2nd. However when I used it the other day one side decided to keep unclipping and starting to fold while my little one was in the pram.
I can't use the pram as I wouldn't like this to happen again, so I emailed quinny who after many emails with all the different numbers off my pushchair have said they will collect and repair if possible as it is an old model for 39.99. I feel for the price I paid this should not be happening. I purchased the pushchair from boots but am unsure if I should query with the sale of goods act to boots or go back to Quinny?
Any advice greatly appreciated

SOGA is with Boots, not the manufacturer.
Its three years old, if the £40 is for collection, repair and return I would say thats pretty good, considering the onus is on you to prove the fault has been inherent since purchase and to do so Boots are entitled to get you to obtain an expert opinion reflecting that which would be at your expense, which they would only refund if it says the fault was inherent.
£40 to get the problem all sorted seems pretty reasonable to be honest...0
