someone a lot cleverer than me will be along soon, in the meantime what is the parking company? you don't pay and gain advice from here how to appeal once a letter arrives in the post.
  • I went to a retail park to M and S . Was away 8 mins and as it was 7 pm didn't put a ticket on as 6 pm was cut to time for a ticket . As there is a new swimming pool next door they have changed the times which I didn't know . Got a ticket UKPC . I am ignoring it. Is that wise ?

You have posted in a thread relating to someone else's case. Please start you own thread to ensure that any conflicts in advice do not cause any confusion.
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

Provided this is not a company car or a lease-hire car, you should do nothing for the moment and wait for the notice to keeper to come through the post.

Ignoring is no longer advised (unless you are in Scotland?). The route to take is to appeal to POPLA, but first you have to appeal to the parking company (PPC) who will almost certainly refuse your appeal, but must give you a POPLA verification code so that you can then appeal to POPLA. The regular posters have 100% success rate with people who have followed their advice.

Come back when you have the notice to keeper. In the mean time have a look at the POPLA decisions thread, and some of the other parking thread to get which gives you an idea of how to formulate a good appeal to POPLA and some of the legal points that win appeals.
I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.
