I am interested if you can rent a privately accessible proxy server, to ensure that when I travel in certain countries, I can still access BBC news sites. In particular, want to keep an eye on industrial action at UK airports affecting my journeys. All the publicly known service are unreliable. Do any services exist that will give you a private address to route through with a certain level of guaranteed reliability? I know that one could rent a server and install CGI script but that is going a bit too far!

i would provably just ssh into my home pc(running linux) with x forwarding and launch a web browser but then my destop would likely be on anyway.

Thx for suggestion. Would rather not leave PC on. 1st choice would be a pay as you go service, 2nd is install one under PHP on a linux server I have access to a control panel for web hosting services on (but no command line access).
