Part X question
Options
Hi all
We've just paid a deposit today for a new car with our current car part X. We were asked to take our current MOT cert with us to exchange cars next Saturday, but now I can't find my MOT cert. As I do my tax online, I don't need the cert. Plus all details can be checked online anyway these days.
Also, the car has an oil leak, but the trader didn't ask to see under the bonnet or ask if anything was wrong, he just looked round the car. We haven't signed anything as to the condition of the part x, just the car we're buying. I know the oil leak as noted in the extra bit on the MOT pass cert too.
What is out position here?

Just go back to the place you had your MOT done and they will print you another copy for a small fee.0

can take to any MOT station and ask for a copy of the MOT, not just the one it was MOT'd at the dealer can get the MOT if they wish its no biggy OP you could got direct gov website mot check and pop in the v5c nubmer and print the status off to prove its mot'd and let the dealer obtain the cert chances are they will auction the car off anyway and not be so bothered about paperwork formalities.0 -
Go to your nearest MOT test station and they'll print you off a copy for a tenner. Why cause grief not bothering providing the requested paperwork while your trying to conceal a fault?0
