Aims Review - Difficulty getting my membership fee back

I entered into an arrangement with AIMS over a year ago after a very pressurised phone call where I was given a very inflated idea of what I could possible be entitled to. I was told I could claim my £250 back after a year if I was not eligible to any mis sold PP1. I tried to get out of the contract as I said I would not need to take advantage of the 'wide range of services' my membership would allow but by this time I had signed the contract. I waited a year and since March have been trying to get my money back. I have been sent a letter explaining how AIMS handle a claim to close a membership. It says it reserves the right to refuse a request to close membership if this is more than 3 months after the year membership ended - I have been trying for over 4 months to get my money back. The letter says AIMs reserve the right to authorise of refuse a refund of the £250 membership fee. An unsuccessful PPI claim will not automatically result in a refund!
I am so angry about the arrogance of AIMS and feel annoyed that I was so gullible in accepting their claims and promises. I would not have entered into the arrangement if I thought I would not be able to get my money back.
Unfortunately I am not alone. I have a friend who had also been taken in by AIMS and has received the same letter.
How do I proceed and who do I complain to?

Read the contract you signed and if it stated you would get the fee back if no PPI was won you need to complain in writing to Aims, put a copy of the contract in and highlight the part you are complaining about, let them know that you are reporting them to the MOJ as they are not doing what the contract says.
See what response you get and take it from there.
