Canaries in December

Has anyone been to the Canary Islands in December? Thinking of taking my 2 kids but wonder what the weather would be like or how busy it might be etc?

Any advice welcome

Thanks

I have been to Gran Canaria in December and the weather was beautiful. It was about 5 years ago and we were swimming in the pool every day. I have done the canaries a few times in the winter and never had bad weather although I think I have been lucky as I know people who have been in Feb and it was mixed. Its a chance you take I suppose but unless you go much further afield you are never going to have guaranteed sunshine.
    Good luck!

sorry, forgot you asked how busy! Its reasonably busy [because of the good chance of nice weather and the fact its not too far to travel I guess] but not packed. Plenty of sunbeds available and room on the beach. Not all shops open long hours unless youre in the busiest resorts.

    Hi

We have done Tenerife many times in December and to date have only had one or two cloudy days in all that time. The Canary Islands are an all year round destination and with Tenerife daytime temps are up to mid 20's {nights CAN be a bit cool but only a LIGHT jacket or cardigan is needed if you are out and about. ALL the bars and attractions are still going and while it is not as crowded or busy as say July/August it is not dead by any stretch. Many of the older generation go to the Canaries for the winter from the UK and Spain to escape the bad weather at home. Overall if you are looking for a warm and entertaing holiday {apart IMO of Furtureventura} you should not go wrong with a break in the Canaries

It's 100% warmer and sunnier than England.

We go for 2 weeks every nov and again go back about the 28th dec for 2 weeks.
Days are nice, we swim in the sea and walk around in shorts and t-shirt.
Nights are ok, but the wind can get up a bit, so I take a fleece incase were sat outside.

We go to playa de las Americas, and it's always busy be it nov or dec.

Another advantage of the Canaries in December is that you have daylight until 6pm rather than 4pm.
