tile over unused toilet overflow pipe

am in the process of ripping out my bathroom and attempting to replace and re tile everything. My old toilet had the old overflow pipe which leads outside if there is issues in the cistern. The new toilet as with most modern toilets has the overflow built in so that it drains down into the pan. Can i just cut the old over flow pipe flush to the wall, block it then tile over, or do i need have to allow access to it still?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Personally I'd remove the pipe completely, fill in the hole in the outside wall with mortar, fill the internal wall then tile over - that way it's gone for good.0

I just had mine replaced 2 weeks ago and took the old overflow out (it was lead) and filled it up with sand/cement as both sides.Internally we just plaster boarded up some of the walls and the tiled over top0

thanks all i thought there shouldn't be an issue but just wanted to double check
Will look at doing some of the above re external side.
Thanks again0 -
Outside as above, when dry fill with spray foam, if toy have any hanging about.
Always best to remove any cavity bridge like unused pipes.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Any particular toy that is suitable for stuffing in the hole?
Cavity or no its still redundant and should be removed.
Cheers
If toy don't know, don't ask.
Should be, or needs to be removed?? It only should be removed if it needs to be or as I said, if there is a risk.
NO point if no risk, leave as is, but any bridge could give damp an entranceI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Should be as in should be. In this context should and must are synonymous. Its is redundant and no longer needed. Whatever you try to block the hole with won't stick to it especialy the, umm, short cut solutions. Just take it out.
