New Hotpoint machine won't spin

Hi
I had a new washing machine delivered last week, and hubby 'installed' it while I was at work. It was really noisy and moved around a lot, so i though it was the feet. We checked today, and the transit bolts were still in place! 1 had snapped half way down the thread, and the rest looked a little shredded around the plastic. But the machine looks fine.
It will agitate, but won't spin. It didn't cost much, so I don't want to call anyone in to look at it - can anyone suggest what could be wrong please?
Thanks!

They usually put prominent warnings on washing machines and the installation guide/sheet to remove the transit bolts before using it!
You may have knackered the motor or bearings. If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0 -
Nothing prominent which surprised me, but certainly detailed in the installation instructions. After a silly mistake, I want to know where to start - it agitates, just doesn't spin.0

Firstly, try giving the drum a few spins clockwise and anti-clockwise by hand. Is there any significant resistance or strange noises?
Have you managed to open up the machine and recover the broken bolt pieces?
The brushes in the motor may need adjusting/replacing. If you can gain access to the rear of the machine, does the motor sound like it's struggling when on the spin cycle? You can try the spin-only program. If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0
