I'm running OO and MS 2010 spreadsheets, I want to add a cell that is linked to the net to obtain a share price to complete some calculations, however after looking on youtube, I'm not getting this function to work.
Any tips?

In Excel, go to the 'Data' menu, click 'Get External Data' then click 'From Web'.

This is what I have tried, but getting one for the BT share price to work is proving difficult0 -
Have you tried adding Data Menu > Connections...
What is the source of your data?
Try this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlGtH_28af00 -

The process in the video works for me.
Is the result not what you require? or do you not get the same result?0 -

I get a lot of text from the website, rather than just the shareprice, all I want the sheet to do is use the share price figure to calulate my gains and I can add some twiddly bits to get it to show how many shares I can sell before CGT maybe due.0 -
I'm not sure there is a formula you can place in a cell to just bring in a single price, it appears as though you import data as a table query. I could be wrong though as I've not really touched on share prices in any depth in the past, others here may know more.
If the result from the YouTube video is too much try this...
Data menu > From Web...
Paste the address http://shares.telegraph.co.uk then click Go
Search for BT.A then click Go
Click on the yellow arrow next to the table that contains the information you require.
Click Import
Click Properties and set the refresh as required
OK0 -

Just to let you know, that has worked fine now, I will have to wait until Monday to check that the sheet updates :cool:0
