Advice on buying new PC

Hi,
I was hoping for a little advice from all you experts. I am looking to buy a new PC but am not sure what I need.
I run Sage Accounting Software to do the accounts for oh's small business. I use a few small excel worksheets, use word a lot and save a few digital photos - but not in any expert way. Other than that just email and internet use.
I have heard Dell recommended, but other than that I have no idea where to start looking or what sort of criteria I'm looking at.
If anyone can help I will be eternally grateful!!

There are some great Dell deals posted on this site, and you can earn cashback too -

That's where I found the link to my new Dell pc
Edit - this is what I got, except it has been reduced more. If you change the hardware support to collect and return 1 yr service, then it's £329 total.

Any PC will do the above, Office is probably the most expensive bit, but you could always use openoffice, which is free.

Hi,
I have been looking at https://www.dmxdimension.com website.
Couple of questions if anyone can answere?
1. Whats the differents between AMD Athlon 64 X2 & Intel Core 2 Duo.
2. What's the differents between Vista™ Home Premium & Vista™ Business
And finally has anyone taken out hardware support (3 years onsite service from Dell) Is this any good to take?
Thanks

1. The price. AMD processors are cheaper.
2. http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=587581&SiteID=17
3. no, unless you are very unlucky, you won't need it, ( constant tumbling prices make extended warranties bad value.)Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
Thanks for the reply.
So the AMP are cheap - why? Intel & AMD are both dual core processors.
What do you think of Dell Dimension E521:-
I have chosen:- Athlon™ 64 X2 4400+ 2048MB 320GB 16X DVD +/- RW 20" Wide TFT E207WFP 256MB nVidia® GeForce® 7300 Vista™ Home Basic £388 D06E11a
Is it worth to take 3 years extra cover?
Also I want earn cashback through quidco but when I click on the link it takes me direct to Dell website not to dmxdimension.com. How this would be done?
Thanks

Dells Indian Tech support has improved in leaps and bounds the Indians you can understand what they say they do NOT rush you off the phone either each call is normally quality monitored by a follow up email too to give feedback.
All in All very good I think,

One good place to check out is https://www.hotukdeals.com and select Dell as the merchant.
I've recently bought a Dell package - really cheap, goes like stink and I'm over the moon with it.
Watch out especially for posts by MikeT (he also posts in this forum) - he posts some great deals
