Whats your opinion of this road in Bexleyheath?

Options
Anyone familiar with this road/area in Bexleyheath and if so whats your opinion on the area if you had to buy a place?

I'm considering going to view the property on this link:
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-27561093.html

Its abit further away from my ideal locations but probably won't be too much of an issue if I drive to work instead (in Bromley). Just not so sure of the area.
Working towards:

Overpayment (50% LTV by Jan 2020) *Clear student Loan(by Jan 2020)[STRIKE]*Save for a Car (2017)![/STRIKE]

I don't know much about that road but did look at a few houses in Welling (just down the road).

In the end I gave up on Welling because driving from Bromley took forever at the sorts of times I was likely to make the journey.

The residents have allocated parking (which also makes me wonder if it might also be a leasehold).

There's also a bus that can take me to work (bus 269 on a 1hr journey) so can use this till I get a car.

The property price is ideal for me but just cant help wondering what gives as most houses I like are on the high end of my budget(£200k possibly to £210k) or over.

I've also visited a few properties in Welling (drove with my mum) and you are right in that its far from Bromley. Trouble is I cant seem to find anything closer I like that is affordable and asking prices seem to be on the up.

I also went to see this yesterday:
    http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-40503497.html

Very close to work and area and neighbors seem ok and would be Ideal but I doubt they'd accept an offer as the price seems very reasonable for the area. I'll give it a go on Monday. They can only say yes or no I guess.

Personally I wouldn't want to live in that area - it is the Coldharbour estate and has a very bad reputation.

Really?... Im running out of areas to look. South Norwood prices are going up, st Paul Cray prices (where my first sale fell through) are up. Honestly Ive even seen properties that haven't sold since January go up. Not sure what the marketing strategy there is.

I actually thought it looked ok and speaking to the neighbors there isn't much trouble in the area. The young couple selling bought 5 years ago and only moving due to a new job.

Have you bought or still looking? If so whereabouts are you looking?

I live not too far from the street in Bexleyheath, and I wouldn't see any problems living there - I never see any trouble, depending on how far away from the main road you are, you may get noise from the bus garage, and there is a fire station & ambulance depot there as well.

It's very close to bexleyheath town centre & buses, which I guess you are looking for?

Thanks Louise, Its daunting considering living in an unknown area so its nice to get opinions from locals. Its one of the few places I can still afford and being close to town and a station also makes it easier with getting a lodger or 2. I'll probably arrange a viewing for next weekend and see how it goes.

I noticed the same thing - there are lots of houses that have been for sale for a long time that have had the prices put up and are still not selling, but the market is brisk for the right sort of property.

I was sent the details of a property about 3 months ago that was up for £275, 2 months ago it went up to £295 and then last week I had a message saying it was newly reduced, to £275.

We are buying a house in Lee, just going through the sale process at the moment.

Have you actually tried driving Bexleyheath to Bromley in the rush hour. The distance is short but the roads are really slow - it could be up to an hour by car as well as by bus.
