MEK and Ammonia with chalk? It's how we used to degrease and polish the glass for bulletproof windows :-)0

Can use a petroleum based car engine degreaser, available in aerosol cans from places like halfords.
Trichloroethene is a traditional degreaser, not sure where you would get it as there are now concerns about human and environmental toxicity.
Orange oil based degreasers are powerful, can get in small quantities as label remover in places like maplin, or on Google found this company selling 1 litre https://www.cromwell.co.uk/SOL7272800A0 -
