My cat would have had someone's face off if we'd ever tried to pull something like that, after conveying her disgust at our stupidity.
The vet used to approach in leather gauntlets after he ended up in hospital getting stitches after she'd finished with him one time :rotfl:He persevered with her though bless him.
We ended up having to wrap her in a big bathtowel like swaddling a baby, marge up the tablet, get it in there, unwrap her at maximum distance and run for the kitchen door :rotfl:0 -
pill pockets. we buy them from eBay. they come from the USA but are the best things ever. My cat will not eat people food at all and is extremely fussy. These work a dream and a packet lasts about a month or so and takes the stress out of giving her daily meds. They are worth every penny.:T0

Baby bell? It's firm but pliable.
Im one for the "towel, fingers in mouth" method. Saves the faffing about.0 -
Have you tried cheap liver pate rolled into a ball with the tablet inside?Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j
If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!0 -
Macca83 - don't know why I didn't think of babybel myself, although I'm not a big cheese eater in general I love babybel and you're right, they're nice and firm so that's another one on the list.pill pockets. we buy them from eBay. they come from the USA but are the best things ever. Just had a look at those, they seem to get good reviews - does your cat like the chicken ones or the salmon ones?0 -

That's on my shopping list already, but thanks. I want to get as many things as possible for my Mum to make it a bit easier on her. I thought the cheese would be a winner as I know her cat likes it and also it can be frozen into small chunks and a few portions got out each day so no waste/running out.0 -
I used to grind up the tablet with a pestle and mortar, then roll the cheese in the tablet mixture until the cheese and tablets were one round ball and thoroughly combined. Then pretend to eat some (yup you read it right) then give the rest to my dog. Never failed and there was no way she was going to separate the cheese from the tablet.0

I used to have to do this for a cat and a dog and I used the cheapest cheese slices, the type you get for burgers, they are very soft and will mold around the tablet no problem1 Sealed Pot Challenge # 1480

I've crushed pills between 2 teaspoons before and then sprinkled the powder on a slice of ham, topped it with another slice and then cut into little squares. Cheese sounds like a good idea though, I may have to try that.
One of my cats is easy enough to get tablets down but the other is a nightmare and I have permanent scars on my hand to prove it (and those were from when the new vet smuggly tried to demonstrate to me how easy it was to do it :rotfl: )Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
