Sorry for this, but I want to moan, and have a little beg.
We have been having a major problem without chavvy neighbours, and after 2 thefts, have decided it is time to move.
We would prefer the Louth, Horncastle, Market Rasen area, but will move anywhere in the country, as we have no ties to any area.
We are getting nowhere with social housing, and are running into problems trying to rent privately.
The problem is, we are a family of 4, I am disabled, and one of our daughters is autistic, my hubby is our carer, so we are reliant on benefits, this is putting a lot of landlords off, we have someone prepared to go guarantor, but she only make £12,000 a year, and most people want a guarantor to earn at least £22,000 after tax.
If you are a landlord, or know one, that would be prepared to take a family of 4, plus a dog and cat, please could you get in touch with us.
Mods, I hope this is allowed.

I have exactly the same situation (long term carer, son with special needs, long term benefits, no guarantor). Its not easy but I did find a few landlords that would consider me (I went armed with a couple of years of bank statements) through GumTree ads. You do have to be a bit more careful with these landlords though as not all of them are the sort of people you want as landlords. I was offered one property and didn't accept because the Landlords would be our neighbours and judging by all the comments she made about previous tenants I would have felt ever so slightly 'watched' lol. So you do have to use good judgement.
Is there any organisation to do with the disability needs of your household that could offer advocacy with housing? Its a suggestion that's been made to me lately.0 -
The guarantor needs to be earning enough to cover their own costs and your rent, in case you are not able to pay it yourself for any reason.0

What is the maximum rent you could afford?
The area that you will be able to live in will be dictated by the rent you can pay.0 -

You will certainly be restricted to certain areas of the UK with a rent for a family of four of £600.
I personally think you should stick with areas you know and where you know GPs and agencies that will help you.
I would try Gumtree but as other say be very careful.0
