I wouldn't do this except where the online site is linked to a real physical store! Like John Lewis for example. I got my kitchen done last year and all the appliances were from JL or Euronics.

I would look at the online company returns policy incase the item arrives dented or doa.
If they don't collect then not many non-businesses can get couriers for big, heavy objects at a reasonable price.

Just buy with a credit card for added protection.

Personally I'd prefer a bricks and mortar store's online equiv

    Hi

I would say go to a specialist, get some proper advice, view the cooker and other equivalents. Have a good play with it, see how sturdy or heavy the doors are, see how easy it will be to clean and so on.

These are all things you will not be able to see from an online store.

I would also say be very careful of range cookers as any that are in the bottom market (under £2,000) IMO are quite poor in terms of build quality and really built for looks rather than performance or longevity.

    Good luck

    Hello,

I got my fridge from John Lewis, but it took nearly three weeks to arrive. Appliances online had the same fridge, same price with free delivery, and I could get it next day!

I bought my range cooker and dishwasher from appliances online, and will be buying my washing machine and tumble dryer from them.

I cannot fault them, great price and really fast delivery. I had a problem with staining on my range cooker and they arranged for someone from Zanussi to come out and see the problem and then replace the cooker top!

They have tons of reviews and videos on the site, and also, you can see things for real in other shops (even if this is naughty!)

Never had a problem buying appliances online. Just check out the background of the company you're buying from, like you would for anything.

Also, make sure it's stated as new and not b-grade as there are a lot of returned slightly damaged items in the white goods trade.

Another vote for Appliances Online. I ordered all my kitchen appliances from them recently - got a 2 hour window, a text message in the morning and later on nearer the delivery time. All arrived together, with no problems.

I'd also support the earlier comment to pay by credit card (but then I would say the same for anything over £100).

I ordered a cooker from Appliances online a few years ago and they were great even offering a discount off the web price when I called them up.
    I hate migraines.
