I am getting a bit overwhelmed by information so apologies if this has already been done as a thread (feel free to direct me somewhere if it has and you can easily find it).
We already have an iPad which is in constant use by us/kids. I have iPhone oh has a Htc so we are fine with both apple and google stores and apps etc.
We are looking to get a second tablet, the main reason for this is a road trip to the south of France and 2 kids in the back who will be arguing over it.
Neither do anything taxing on it - watch films/programmes we have downloaded and play a few kids apps or candy crush! The youngest is only 1 so obviously only plays under supervision but we want something I can put programmes on and attach to the headrest for the journey mainly but can also be used at a later point.
Budget is a main issue and a second iPad is not an option, ideally around £100 but will go to £150 for the nexus if need be.
Other things are memory/memory card
Battery life
Ease of use.
Can handle playing a stored film/video without crashing/buffering.
So, is there any specific things I should be looking for or looking to avoid?
Are the really cheap ones any good or should they be avoided?
Please feel free to make any recommendations.

Cant comment on the cheap ones, there is a make that some posters have bought and say its fine, cant recall the make. With the nexus you cant just add extra storage well you can but you need to buy an OTG cable, the app from the Google Play store, a micro sd card and a usb adapter for a micro sd card.
Other Tablets like the Samsung Tab2 have an expansion slot for storage.0 -
Don't make my mistake of going for a refurbed Nexus 7 from Tesco...(£119), first one died after 5 days, it's replacement had a big white 'blob' embedded in the screen. Now having probs getting a refund!0

Well plenty of people will tell you its a Nexus or nothing and yes it will do all you want but as I can tell you have figured its OTT for what you need.
Virtually any tablet even single core as long as it has a video co-processor (nearly all do) will play video easily and games without problem.
I will kick off with a suggestion, this Busbi 7" has dual core power and a better screen resolution than many budget ones, also a nice grippy case for small hands. Its sold by Curry's at £90 but Ebuyer have it at a brilliant £59.98 with free delivery and a 4GB memory card bundled in.
ALSO NOTE EBUYER pay between 1.5% and 3% cashback if you go via free Topcashback site. (free to set up an account)
Down side to this particular tablet? very little internal storage which is why they have bundled a card with it no doubt. SD cards are cheap so if 4GB is not enough easy to upgrade. Also battery is not huge, so don't expect it to last like an ipad (few Android devices do)0 -
£70 Sumvision Cyclone Voyager Tablet PC 7" @ ebuyer.
£100 Acer B10
