If you work under 16 hours you may sign for JSA. However anything over £5 would be deducted from your entitlement, so you may not receive any payment.

You can't get JSA if you're working 16 hours a week.
You are unlikely to get any help with housing costs if you're living at home.

If you are sure, why are you asking?

How much will you be earning?

If you have an income of £120 a week you will not qualify for JSA.

What do you need to get so you can get JSA then?

Less than £62 a week, and then anything you earn leads to a deduction from your benefit (as explained above).

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I want some benefits. I earn £28k a year, but have to pay full rent and CT out of that. Travel costs £90 a month!!! Plus, I like, NEED new handbags every month and like eating out and make up. Also, I have two dogs to support. Can I like, get the equivalent of child benefit for dogs (doggy benefit?). Failing that, will the Government pay for my Cineworld card? It costs me £15 a month.

    Thanks!
