How long to leave between exchange and completion?

Options
What seems a long saga is hopefully coming to an end very soon. Going to speak to solicitor on wednesday to sign papers authorising her to exchange contracts.

Situation: I accepted an offer, and put an offer in on another property first week in May.

People buying from me are FTB, and are currently renting from friends and can leave without giving notice. The people i am buying from own the adjoining property and can move as soon as we want.

Taking this into account, are there any logistical or technical reasons why we shouldnt just complete as soon as we can?

Obviously there is the issue of getting a removal company, and informing utilities. But apart from that?

I feel like ive been stuck in limbo for three months as it is!!

The only problem I could see happening is if you chose to complete on Friday as removal companies get booked up weeks in advance & often Friday is the most favoured day.

When I moved last year there was going to be just a week between exchange & completion as my buyer was anxious to be in & not to have to commit to another months rent.

We'd decided on a Thursday but it turned out that the removal company were fully booked & only had a couple of free slots at the beginning of the following week, so we made it the following Monday, which apparently can be one of the removal peoples quieter days.

Good luck in your new home & hope it all goes smoothly with completion & the move.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

The other parties in the chain have an input in completion dates, so don't make too many plans until the views of the others are known to you.

Those who appear to be able to move at the drop of a hat suddenly have holidays booked, kids in school, money in a term account, all kinds of things...
