Gap in work following Maternity Leave.

Hi All wondering if you can help.

To cut a long story short I had a years Maternity Leave after having my first child. I had to leave my job following this Leave so have not earned in 4 months although I start a new job shortly. My husband has continued to work through this period in the Military (his posting forced the move). Am I entitled to claim any money for the period that I have been searching for work or am I too late?

Many thanks in advance

You may have been eligible for JSA, but you would need strong grounds to ask for them to backdate your claim. Ignorance as to entitlement is not sufficient for backdating.
