Unexpected claim chance

About 2 years ago I successfully got a refund from Barclays with the main ammunition being that at the time I worked in the public sector (and they knew that) and because of the ''cover'' I got from the public sector (6 months full pay / 6 half pay then if medically discharged a lump sum etc) then it should not have been sold.
I've now got a letter from a credit card that I paid off and closed about 18 months back using my redundancy money from the public sector. I didn't know it had PPI thus no claim earlier. (must do better) They are saying that I have been identified as possibly being in the Armed Forces when the card was taken out and if so it should not have been sold. Not strictly true as I was in the MoD Civil Service - public sector - although I had served in the Forces but way before this card was obtained.
Do I now just stick with the ''public sector'' arguement as with Barclays added to ''I didn't even realise''.
