Fixtures and fitting query!

Hi all,

On the fixtures and fitting list for house purchase, it states Telephone receiver - N/A. Does this mean that there is no telephone port? Not too much of a big deal I guess, just means maybe sky will have to put one in when we move our sky stuff over? (Not sure if they charge for this?)

Also I currently have a query with the vendor (through the solicitor) about a freestanding electric cooker and whether it can be included in sale and how much for? (Vendor mentioned she might be able to leave it during a viewing). How much would be a reasonable amount to pay? I was thinking about £50 as you can get similar second hand ones for around this on gumtree? Does that seem reasonable?

Will ask solicitor if necessary on Monday, but don't want to hold up the proceedings with any more unnecessary queries! It was nearly 2 weeks ago I asked about the cooker and still haven't heard anything

Thanks for any help in mean time

my guess is that the vendors are taking the telephone receiver with them, orperhaps don't have one.

You want Sky? You get Sky!

I've not seen the cooker! I don't know the make/model! Or the age! Or the condition! So yes, £50 seems spot on.

good idea - he'll know exactly what it is worth.

    hmmm...

If a cheap 2nd hand cooker, and a phone, are all you have to worry about, and are the only things holding up your multi-hundred-thousand pound purchase ...

Oh yeah don't get me wrong! I'm not complaining about these simple things holding things up!!

We have been fortunate that there has been no major bumps along the way!

I just wondered whether 'telephone receiver' meant the telephone plug where you plug the phone in or the telephone itself?

The cooker thing is no major deal at all, would just make it a little easier when we first move in so we can actually cook without having to rush out and get one.

    Thanks for the replies!

Also should have said not just cooker holding the process up, still waiting for searches to come back as well!

But want to be ready when they come back.

'Telephone receiver' means the phone itself, not the wall socket.:)

OMG did you really not check for this when you looked around.

It's the first thing that I do, modifying this sort of thing is either very expensive or looks bloody awful

OP it used to be the case years ago that you rented the phone from BT, and they were left behind. Probably stems from them. Unplug your current phone and take it with you, problem solved :)
