VAT receipt, how strict are HMRC

    agreed, the link i posted states a simplified receipt (invoice) for under £250 still must have the following clearly stated:

    the seller's name and address
    the seller's VAT registration number
    the time of supply (tax point)
    a description of the goods or services

    I'm quite sure Tesco print their VAT number on the back of the receipt. VAT number and registered address on the back, and the rest on the front. It's all perfectly valid (for under £250).
