In debt and new to renting

I am currently in debt (owe approximately 75% of my annual salary on 0% credit cards) but do have 1/2 my annual salary in savings.

My question is would I pass a credit check with a letting agent or would they see this debt (I have never missed a payment in my life).

If not then I guess my only alternative would be to wait and pay off the debt in full?

Letting agents only see public information, Bankruptcy, IVA, CCJs. So they can't even see defaults let alone card balances etc.

Might be an issue if they ask for bank statements, as they will obviously see payments. Guess you don't have to show them this.

They can ask for a reference from your bank, no idea what info this contains though.
